Course: ELEMENTS OF COMMERCIAL LAW

The course aims to present basic concepts of commercial law, with emphasis to the law of commercial companies and bankruptcy law. The syllabus among other includes: (i) the relationship between commercial law and economy, the concept of trader and business under Greek law and the distinction between personal and stock companies; (ii) main commercial contracts; (iii) personal companies (main characteristics, establishment, bodies and operation); (iv) société anonymes (main characteristics, establishment, bodies and operation); (v) private companies (main characteristics, establishment, bodies and operation); (vi) limited liability companies (main characteristics, establishment, bodies and operation); (vii) mergers and acquisitions; (viii) bankruptcy law, reorganisations and corporate restructurings; and (ix) case studies.
